Walking along the side of the road in a suburb of Portland, Oregon, a sudden opening appeared and I was blessed with this view. The floor is a swamp and cannot be walked in past a certain point, keeping the place a peaceful and pure mystery. The wind was calm and cool and I felt like these trees, or what remains, were tall friends of mine, speaking but not speaking. I felt the presence of Native Americans.
